LIST of TEAS & TISANES...
We are often asked which teas are our
favorites, our customers favorites...We have created a Tea Category for those
tea connoisseurs who want to splurge in the Art of Taking Tea. Because of
the rarity of these particular teas, we decided that they needed their own page

2 DOVES SILVER NEEDLE
(White
Tea; China)
-
Remember, the production of
white tea is different from other
tea. The leaves come from special
varietal tea bushes and are not
processed but are dried and
withered in the sun. Only special
"two leaves and a bud" are
selected with the ideal being two
leaves wrapped around a newly
developing shoot. After withering
and drying these leaves are then
painstakingly selected and sorted
by hand.

GYOKURO (Green Tea; Japan)
The
Japanese take tea drinking very
seriously, the better it is, the
more they are willing to pay for
it. It is not uncommon for some
Gyokuro’s to sell for more than
$1000.00 per pound. Arguably, the
most expensive tea in the world.
Why is Gyokuro so expensive? Old
tea trees are shaded to reduce the
effect of photosynthesis and there
is almost an insane cachet that
seems to be unique to Japan about
drinking rare green teas.
